Sunday, April 13, 2008: Dances with Horses III

The Westchester Horse Council will present "Dances with Horses III" to benefit We Will Ride, Inc. Therapeutic Riding, on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Coker Farm. Gates open and activities begin at 10am, and the show starts at 1pm. Tickets for admission are Adults/$15, Children/$10.

We Will Ride, Inc. Therapeutic Riding is an organization that provides programs of horse-related activities for the purpose of enhancing the physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of persons with disabilities.

DWHIII will include solo and synchronized riding demonstrations of various riding disciplines, as well as demonstrations in hand, all set to music. There will be pony rides and face-painting, as well as raffles and a bake sale. Food will be available for purchase.

For the fifth year in a row, Orville will be hosting and performing at the Little Red Lighthouse Festival, on September 15, 2007 at the Little Red Lighthouse, under the George Washington Bridge.

In addition to Orville, the Festival features hayrides, face painting, a stiltwalker, more music, celebrity readings of the children's story The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge, and tours of Manhattan's only remaining lighthouse. Adam Gussow's interview of Orville, published in Blues Access Magazine, has been included in Adam's new book Modern Blues Lives from Faulkner's Mississippi to Post-9/11 New York. The book publication party is Friday, June 1st at Terra Blues (149 Bleecker St., NYC), 7pm-10pm. Adam's duo, Satan and Adam, will be playing NYC for the first time in 9 years.

Adam will be bringing his harps to Orville's Monday night open mic at Keenan's Piano Lounge (Broadway and 204th, NYC) on Monday, June 4th, at 8pm. He will also have freshly published books for sale.
